Boothstown JFC is run
entirely on a voluntary basis. The Clubs coaches are drawn from the
community, and most became involved in the running of the Club initially as
parents.
The Club places great importance on its coaches attending
Football Association courses, and on holding FA awards. Almost all of the
Clubs coaches have attended, as a minimum, the FA Junior Team
Managers Course and an FA approved Emergency Aid course. New coaches are
encouraged to attend such courses within a year of getting involved in coaching
our young players.
A number of the Clubs coaches have progressed
to gain the FA Coaching Certificate (UEFA B Part 1). This award
requires a major commitment from voluntary individuals, taking around four
months to complete, and including 60 hours attendance over a seven day
period, or over a number of weekends.
In addition there are two
qualified referees among the Clubs coaches, holding Class One and Class
Three status respectively. In addition there are two qualified referees among

Several
of the Clubs coaches are members of the FA Coaches Association. To retain
their FA awards members of the FACA are required to undertake a specified
period of continuing professional development each year. This usually involves
attendance at regional or national events and seminars for coaches. Our coaches
attend these sessions in order to return with more experience to benefit our
young players.
