Bridgewater Park

Bridgewater Park, a new community sports field in Boothstown, is now open. The facility has two full sized football pitches and two mini-soccer pitches, built to high specifications. A pavilion building will be built next year. The pitches were opened at the start of 2003/4, and the first goal was scored by our under-14s Rangers team in a friendly match against Fletcher Moss (photo below).

Bridgewater Park is the official home of Boothstown Junior Football Club, and the Club has supported the development for several years. The facility has benefited from financial support from Viridor Waste Management, the company that runs a nearby landfill site – this support has been made possible through the landfill tax credit scheme.

The development has also been supported by a grant from the local community committee of Salford City Council, and from a significant contribution from Peel Holdings, owners of the site and developers of the neighbourhood.

As part of its support for the development, and to reflect the fact that the Football Club will become the major user of the facility, Boothstown JFC is also making a significant financial contribution to the development. A number of initiatives to raise funds have already been successful. The Club would be pleased to hear from anyone interested in supporting its fundraising to provide a top-class facility for young footballers in our community.
