Boothstown Junior Football Club was founded in 1995 as Boothstown Lads JFC. The name was changed to reflect the inclusive nature of the Club, which has welcomed female players wherever possible.
The Club was founded by David Lord and the late Paul Mallon in response to a lack of opportunity for the growing number of children in the area to take part in organised football within their own community.

In the first season the Club fielded teams in a limited number of age groups. Today the Club caters for players aged from under-6 to under-18.
